Martine Rose, the British-Jamaican designer known for her fearless reimagining of popular trends, is once again joining forces with Nike for a boundary-pushing take on the iconic Shox silhouette.

The Martine Rose x Nike Shox Mule MR 4 has been transformed into an avant-garde mule that is both audacious and visually striking. This collection comes in two colorways – “Safety Orange” and “Scuba Blue” – and will be accompanied by a range of unisex apparel, including suits, shirts, and coats.

The “Safety Orange” variant draws inspiration from soccer's boundless energy and flair. With an emphasis on versatility, the silhouette boasts an elongated forefoot that gives it a sleek and streamlined aesthetic, while the Shox pucks at the heel have been raised to facilitate a slip-on construction. The upper features an exhilarating gradient that transitions from a vibrant “Safety Orange” at the toe to an electric neon towards the mid-foot and heel. Contrasting jet-black elements grace the sole unit, the bold Swoosh, and lace loops, adding depth to the design.

The “Scuba Blue” colorway features a similar elongated forefoot and taller heel. The shoe retains performance-inspired design elements, while a gradient finish across the toe infuses a touch of urban chic. According to Nike, the bold color palette of the Shox Mule MR 4 is influenced by the lively goalkeeper jerseys of the 1990s.

Martine Rose’s initial release of slip-on Nike Shox in the previous summer was met with mixed reactions. While some were critical, others – particularly the daring fashion enthusiasts and those understanding her deconstructive approach – embraced the shoe.
