Busted!
Almost $2 million worth of fake Nike sneakers were seized by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) after a three-month investigation.
A press release from the CBP describes the seizure, which began when officers at the Port of New York/Newark inspected a shipment from Dongguan, China in late September. The package was destined for Chino, California and contained 9,024 Nike sneakers which, after months of working with specialists, were determined to be fake.

Specific models weren’t named, although images of fake Air Max 98s and Air Max 270s were provided. According to the release, the sneakers would have been worth an estimated $1,695,600 had they been authentic.
The seizure was wrapped up last Thursday, Nov. 29.
