It looks like the Greek Freak’s sophomore signature sneaker isn’t the only Nike honoring the Nigerian football hits this Summer, with this Nike Air Max 95 “Naija” adopting the African nation’s geometric stylings. It joins the just-previewed Air Presto of the same name and, like that pair, this Air Max adorns itself in a mix striking green and black.
Voted the waviest kits of the would-be games (by us), the Naija team kits feature geometric/zig-zagging detail in varying shades of green, white, and black — which is exactly the palate and print that this pair has picked up. Here, the jet black ripstop upper is overlayed by green printed panels of ripstop, nylon, and wovens, each offering up its own unique shades of green. Eyelets sport a traditional pattern too, with further hits of green arriving within the Air unit, and through flashes on the outsole. The rest of the sneaker is done up in stark blacks, with suede at the toe, 3M reflective at the heel, and rubber sole unit all sporting the authoritative hue. Capping off the design is a set of graphic insoles that directly reference the Nigerian Football Federation, and popping green branding at the tongue and heel.
