We knew this was coming — who didn’t?
A straight nod to Back to the Future Part II’s self-lacing Nike Air Mag, Nike is set to release this new Adapt BB that will honor the film’s 30th Anniversary.
Designed to give you a customized, consistent fit, the Nike Adapt BB is their first power lacing shoe that’s built solely for basketball. And while we’ve had self-lacing sneakers in the past from the Swoosh, the Adapt BB is more in-line with the aesthetic of the original Air Mag, making this pairing a no-brainer. Mimicking the OG’s makeup, the pair sports an all-grey upper, heel and midsole combo, the latter two splattered with teal throughout. Further bridging the two are a quartet of colored circular details at the ankle, which ties into the Air Mag’s lower ankle lights. An oversized Swoosh arrives in stark white, while an icy outsole and electric blue lights up the midfoot, again paying homage to Marty McFly’s futuristic footwear.
