There were very few occasions where Michael Jordan wore non-Jumpman-branded sneakers on the NBA hardwood. The most notable instance was in 1995, when Mike dropped a 40-piece on Penny Hardaway in his signature Nike Air Flight One. Long before that, the Nike Air Ship was the precursor to his Air Jordan line, and for one night against the Knicks in 1988, the GOAT laced up the Nike Air Alpha Force 88. That shoe went on to inform the Don C-designed Legacy 312, but the actual model itself hasn’t been seen for years.

That will change in 2023, as Nike will be bringing back the classic silhouette — in the exact colorway Mike wore in Chi-City Colors.

“Note”Michael Jordan Blocks Mark Jackson of the New York Knicks, circa 1988.

You can expect a close-to-OG reissue, including tumbeld and perforated white leathers, a bold black forefoot lockdown strap, and striking red Swooshes, collars, and “FORCE” logo’d tongues. White, black, red, and grey then converge on the sole unit to complete the exterior.

Grab an updated, official look at the Nike Air Alpha Force 88 "Chicago" retro below, and expect to see these hit select stockists and Nike.com on July 15th for $140.
