Bo Jackson’s Nike Air Bo Turf Returns Next Month

Though he’s known for many things, Bo Jackson is most famous in our space for his cross-athletic Nike Air Trainer SC, famously designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield. But it’s not Bo’s only trainer from the Swoosh, with the follow-up Nike Air Bo Turf the lesser-known sister sneaker from the Jackson catalog.

Originally released in 1992, the Air Bo Turf features a similar design to Bo’s Air Trainer SC III (AKA the Air Trainer SC High), complete with the panels that include embedded cables for lateral lock-down. Aside from the low cut, there are a few other notable tweaks, like a redesigned sole unit, heel-wrapped Swooshes, and a mostly-mesh construction. Modern additions PE #34 branding at the heel and “Bo Knows” insoles get us all a little nostalgic of the era.

A release date for the Nike Air Bo Turf in its “White/Solar Red” colorway has been confirmed for July 6th, with many more colorways likely to follow shortly thereafter.
