Deion Sanders may not have experienced the expected success in his first year as the Head Coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, but Coach Prime is certainly making headlines — something the man knows how to do. Nike is jumping on that train for 2024 as they look to reinstate Deion's original Nike Air DT Max '96.

Before this year, Sanders and Nike had not collaborated since parting ways in the early 2000s. Before joining the University of Colorado, Boulder, Sanders wore Under Armour gear, as the Baltimore-based sportswear brand sponsored Jackson State. However, the Hall of Famer has been spotted in Nike footwear since July.

Months after the news broke that the two iconic partners from the 1990s had reconciled, Sanders was seen wearing a modified version of his cross-training Air DT Max '96 (also known as the Diamond Turf 3). This pair featured the instantly recognizable upper but replaced the aggressive sole units with plush ZoomX cushioning from the Invincible Run 2.

While those sneakers remained exclusive to Coach Prime, it fueled rumors that the third iteration of the Nike Diamond Turf would eventually make a comeback — and now it appears that it will be the case.

After a small-batch release of the OG DT Max '96 during this year's Super Bowl, Nike will back it up with a wider rollout of the sneaker on Nike.com on June 14th, 2024 — and now a confirmed restock on Dick's Sporting Goods on June 28.
