Nike’s Move to Zero initiative has led their footwear designers to explore some unique avenues of inspiration, from the well-documented Space Hippie lineage to the incorporation of Grind Rubber to their releases. Sometimes, we even get a complete textile overhaul, like this crochet-constructed Nike Air Force 1 “Hemp” that doesn’t distance itself too far from grandma’s epic tea cozy collection.
In place of the silhouette’s signature leather upper, this pair presents with a completely knitted upper, with base layers of white set against light grey overlays that blend perfectly into the Grind Rubber-flecked sole units beneath. From there, pops of color come in via the orange crochet Swoosh, blue heel overlays, and green nylon tongues. The latter is capped off with special Nike Hemp brandmarks, with Nike’s now-signature volt insoles completing with the Move to Zero Pinwheel motifs finalizing off the design.
A release date for this new Air Force 1 Low “Hemp” is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see pairs hit select stores and Nike.com over the coming weeks. Until more news arrives, you can enjoy an official look at the pair here below, and be sure to keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter account for further updates.
If you’re feeling this aesthetic, then make sure you check out the recently-revealed Nike Blazer Mid, too!
