Nike, Inc. might have promised investors that it'll move away from heavily-depended-on franchises by the end of the year, but it continues to churn out compelling pairs from these lines. Case in point?: A newly-surfaced Air Force 1 Low reminiscent of Nike SB's Orange Label Dunks.
Officially clad in a "Anthracite/Gum Yellow/Safety Orange/White" color scheme, the latest take on Bruce Kilgore's design from 1983 features a clean presentation throughout its "presidential" build. The bulk of the upper's leather construction indulges in a pitch-dar finish that's contrasted by laces and profile swooshes. Citrus-accented branding on the tongue label and Achilles' heel panel inject another element of heritage into the pair, which features a metallic lace dubrae akin to styles from past decades.
Underfoot, the clearest nod to Nike Skateboard's Orange Label arrives in the form of the "White/Gum Yellow"-colored tooling. The design choice creates a summer-friendly look that's appeared on some of the division's elevated footwear products. The look seems right at home on Kilgore's creation.
Firm Nike.com release details haven't been disclosed by the brand as of yet, but that's expected to change as the end of summer approaches. In the meantime, enjoy official photos of the Air Force 1 below.
