The Nike Air Force 1 is arguably the eighth wonder of the world. Just how something so simple can be continually reinvented (and without the market ever getting sick of it) remains one of the world’s greatest mysteries. In fact, it’s still the Swoosh’s biggest-selling sneaker, earning the company a whopping $800m in sales over the past 12 months — and it’s colorways like these that keep the engine ticking over.
Arriving in an ever-popular white leather base, the pair presents a handful of individualities that differentiate them from your typical release. Book-ended by black rubber tread and liners, the whites in-between remain mostly untainted. There is, however, a tweak to the tongue, which now features a retro grid textile and motion-blurred branding. The Swoosh switches it up, too, presenting in a double-layered, lightly-printed grey finish. The midsole detail channels this with its detail done in two tones. Forefoot Nike branding is not the expected mini Swoosh, instead opting for a NIKE text variant. The heel threadwork differs too, presting a solo Swoosh atop a black patent leather overlay.
