With Spring and Summer in sight, footwear brands are beginning to shift their focus from winterized retoolings to bright and vibrant options. The next to appear for the seasons ahead is yet another fresh take on Nike’s Air Force 1 — this one bringing an ultra-90s aesthetic.
Like the majority of AF1 options for Spring/Summer, the pair starts out on a classic all-white base, with staple smooth leathers and white sole units providing a blank canvas for the embellishments to pop. Here, the Swoosh has opted for a multitude of vibrant hues, including green, blue, teal, pink, and black — popular amongst designers of the early 90’s era. The graphic tongue tags cement the era’s influence on the pair, working through rainbow-like gradients seen so prevalently on Nike’s clothing during the period. Swoosh overlays carry that theme, too, featuring a Tech Challenge 2-like splatter gradient of green and volt, and the pair is capped off with a slew of color pops at the tongue liner, insoles, rear branding, and midsole paintwork.
Though a drop date for the pair has not yet been confirmed, you should expect to see pairs rolling out at select Swoosh stockists over the Spring/Summer season. Until then you can take an official look at the pair here below, and make sure you’re giving us a follow here on our official Twitter account for further updates.
