The success of Virgil Abloh’s retooling of the Air Jordan 1 OG Chicago back in 2017 certainly planted seeds in the heads of Beaverton’s best designers. Since that pivotal release, Nikehas continuously found the courage to overhaul, tweak and deconstruct its classic silhouettes in an extraordinary fashion. From things as tame as the Blazer ‘7 Vintage to the audacious N. 354 lineage, and everything in between, the brand has found its stride in a thematic that’s only just now nearing the end of its tenure. But before the wave washes ashore, Nike has unveiled one of their best deconstructed efforts yet, and it’s presented on the classic Triple White Force 1 Low:
Similar to the winterized GORE-TEX x Air Force 1 High, the pair arrives with cut out mid panels and tacked-on translucent Swooshes, although the lateral side here has gone oversized. Other “normal” deconstructed aspects are included, like exposed foam tongues, aged-look midsoles, and inverted suede overlays, but there are a few tweaks to this pair that make it unique to Nike’s history. Insoles display the OG Air Force 1 Style code, while the liner shows the current-day code for the exact pair you’re looking at. Further homage is paid to the Uptown’s DNA, with part numbers and descriptions indented into the lateral side and under the translucent outsole. Capping of the sneaker is tonal branding hits on the tongue and heel, and the pair arrives with two sets of laces.
