Split personality.
From the OG to Jelly Swooshes, to the SF-AF1 and Jester remakes, the Air Force 1 is one sneaker with multiple personalities — one that continues to reinvent itself year after year, trend after trend. And .just when you thought you’d seen it all from the Force, Nike arrives right on queue with yet another new adaptation of the storied sneaker. This time around, the Swoosh has opted for a “What The”-style of colors and materials, across an all-new take on how the sneaker is paneled.
While the traditional toe, vamp, and heel design remain intact, each panel is sectioned and split up to allow for variants of both color and material to give off an overall abstract finish. The cracked leather toe box is overlayed by a split-colored suede toe cap, while the mid panel is split between canvas and cracked white leather, which carries over to the heel. Smooth leather wraps most of the rear, which is overlayed by thick-cut, debossed-branded suede. Tumbled leather lace overlays roll into a circular cut at the collar, which sits above minimized Swooshes, and the pair is completed with nylon tongues and two-toned sole units.
Nike has two colorways on the way for this “What The”-styled makeup of the Air Force 1 Low, one arriving in a mix of Red, Sail, Blue, Tan, and Black, the other in Black, Sail, Green and Gold, which is available right now from Foot District. As for a release on the other pair, dates are still TBA, so keep it locked on our Nike Release Dates pages for more updates!
