Throughout its 40th-anniversary celebration, the Air Force 1 has seen quite a few reincarnations, plenty of which have been centrally focused on the four-decade-long lifespan of the humble silhouette. Now, with only a few months left to celebrate, the Swoosh is cooking up something fresh, with this new Nike Air Force 1 Low Unity “OG” bringing brand new tooling to a time-tested colorway — and a completely overhauled sole unit to boot.
Everywhere you look on this release, you’ll see something new (or old, for that matter), from retro-inspired fat-belly Swooshes on the profile to an equally old-school set of nylon uppers. Shaggy suede overlays also harken back to retro trainers of the 1970s, whilst the colorway is a direct nod to the original Air Force 1 High from 1982. There’s vintage branding in the back, too — but that’s not all. The biggest overhaul belongs to the pair’s sole units, which sifts from its usual format to something more streamlined, the migration of the AIR lettering to the forefoot, and underfoot tread modified to read out specific details about the model, inverted so that they can be rear once stepped in snow/mud.
A release date for this pair has not yet been set, but it is expected to arrive soon. Until then, enjoy the first look at this new Nike Air Force 1 Low Unity “OG” here below, and be sure to keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates on its release.
