Nike Air Huarache “Turf Orange” Arrives June 24th

As it appears, yesterday’s news on the retrospective release of 2003’s Nike Air Huarache “Escape” is just the tip of the iceberg for the 30-year-old silhouette, with the surfacing of a brand new colorway for the Spring/Summer season arising today. The Nike Air Huarache NH “Turf Orange” is the culprit, and with it, it brings an all-too-familiar flavor to the one in-favor linage.

Not only has the Huarache popped up in a handful of memorable orange colorways, but it’s also dived head-first into some closely aligned ACG-themed colorways that feel as organic to the silhouette as the OGs. Though it takes a more reserved approach to its outdoor inspiration than Nike’s avant-garde ACG lineage, the DNA is clearly visible. Earthy orange and red tones work in tandem through materials suede and neoprene though it’s upper, while hardware works in Nike’s recurring gritty cinder finish — a trademark of the concurrent “Flora Pack” of releases. Not only is it featured here on the outsole, but also on the tongue badge and heel cage. Slightly orange-tinted sail midsoles add the pair’s biggest break in color and subtly highlight the exposed foam of the neoprene around the textile’s edging. Completing the design is a set of cork insoles and a special iron-cast Swoosh lace jewel in a dark chocolate finish.

Though official images have appeared, a release date has not — but you can expect to see pairs of this Nike Air Huarache “Turf Orange” hit select retailers soon.
