Zellerfeld & Nike Present the Air Max 1000.2—Another Evolution in 3D-Printed Shoes
NIKE, Inc. is on a consistent mission to develop innovative product for athletes across all disciplines. In recent memory, the Swoosh has also explored new ways to manufacture product and help people be more comfortable as they live their day-to-day. Zellerfeld, the expert in 3D-printed shoes, has joined Nike's efforts, developing the evolutionary Air Max 1000—and now, the Air Max 1000.2.
Nike's first link-up with Zellerfeld reworked Tinker Hatfield's Air Max 1 blueprint from 1987 with modern-age technology. The result has been a familiar, but completely-new footwear proposal that demonstrates not only the future of the legacy technology that is Air Max, but also the sportswear juggernaut's commitment to innovation.
The Air Max 1000.2 builds upon the foundation laid by the Air Max 1000. The new iteration sees updates to the outsole geometry, which tweaks print-efficiency without sacrificing the soft, responsive ride. Lug shape has been refined, making the collaborative shoe faster to produce. Air Max and zellerFOAM® elements reprise their roles, delivering the same fit and style fans of the laceless design have grown to love.
The Air Max 1000.2 debuts in a "Black" color scheme in early May. A global zellerfeld.com EQL-powered raffle opens on Monday, May 4, and closes on Thursday, May 7; a North American Nike SNKRS launch takes place on May 7.
Away from the world of Air Max, Nike is getting ready to announce its football-inspired "Unamtched Pre-Match" Collections for France, England, the U.S., and others.
