Nike's Cryo Shot Gets Reworked for the 2026 World Cup™ by Virgil Abloh Archive™, Jordan Brand, Palace, NOCTA & Others

Nike Football shook up the footwear industry when it unveiled Cryo Shot, a new franchise that allows some of the sport's most-iconic boots to be worn off-the-pitch, ahead of the 2025 UEFA Champions League Final. With the 2026 World Cup™ fast-approaching, it seems the Swoosh is finally ready to launch its retro-inspired product to the masses, but it's not doing so alone; instead, NIKE, Inc. has invited eight different collaborators representing seven nations to help introduce Cryo Shot to market.

Patta co-founder Guillaume "Gee" Schmidt previewed his imprint's Netherlands-inspired pair last summer, while the Virgil Abloh Archive™ shared a first-ever look at the late designer's take on Cryo Shot during the Virgil Abloh: The Codes exhibit at Paris' Grand Palais. X users @brandon1an and @KicksFinder have shared that additional Cryo Shot collabs will release in partnership with:

• NOCTA, Canada
• Palace Skateboards, England
• Slawn, Nigeria
• PEACEMINUSONE, South Korea
• JACQUEMUS, France

Every collaborator but Slawn is representing a Nike-sponsored national football team participating in the 2026 World Cup™. Jordan Brand joins the project, but its special-edition Cryo Shot is separate due to Virgil Abloh Archive™ already representing the U.S.

It's still unclear exactly how the entirety of Nike's commemorative Cryo Shot capsule looks like, but the project seems to have been developed by each participating national football team's governing body. As such, it's expected federation crests and matching apparel form part of each release.

Additionally. the Cryo Shot platform will likely unearth iconic designs from Nike's longstanding football boot franchises—Mercurial and Tiempo—while potentially opening up the vault for Total 90, CTR360, Hypervenom, or Phantom.
