Nike, Inc. continues to roll out its 3D-printed Air Max 1000 in limited quantities. The silhouette's "Oat" and "Black" finishes are both scheduled to drop on Tuesday, Aug. 19.

In comparison to the "Total Orange"-accented pair, the stealthy style is presumably more limited. (Nike SNKRS marketing material initially stated the "Black" AM 1000 was limited to just 300 pairs, but a representative from Zellerfeld contacted House of Heat° to share that the number "isn’t accurate and we can’t disclose any specific quantity for this launch but it is limited.") The low stock number is likely indicative of the fairly-nascent manufacturing product for the Air Max and zellerFOAM®-cushioned design. Additionally, the limited launch will surely build hype for an following drops—including a wider release of the "Black" option.

Those curious enough to have placed an early pre-order for the Air Max 1000's launch colorways have taken to the internet to share positive reviews of the innovative, 100% recyclable model. It's unlikely the Zellerfeld-backed project will replace sneakers like the Air Max 1 in as many rotations anytime soon, but what's already happened is that the product showcases the Swoosh's commitment to experimentation.

The "Black" Air Max 1000 is exclusive to zellerfeld.com and releases on Aug. 19. Pairs are priced at $180.
