Nike and Zellerfeld’s 3D-printed Air Max project is already moving into another sharp new colorway.

Just days after the black-and-pink Air Max 1000.2 released, the experimental silhouette has now appeared in a new “Black & Hyper Crimson” makeup, keeping the same stealthy base while swapping the heel accent for a much louder hit of red-orange.

The pair continues the futuristic look that has defined the Air Max 1000.2 so far. Its laceless upper is shaped from a single sculpted form, wrapping the foot with smooth, molded sections through the forefoot and more heavily textured zones around the sides and heel. The all-black finish keeps the design clean and almost concept-like, while the small Swoosh on the lateral side keeps branding minimal.

Where this pair separates itself is at the heel. Instead of the bright pink Air unit seen on the “Black & Pink Spell” colorway, this version uses a Hyper Crimson-tinted Air Max window that cuts through the otherwise blacked-out build. The result is still subtle from most angles, but the red-orange cushioning hit gives the shoe a sharper performance-tech feel.

The Air Max 1000.2 remains one of Nike’s more unusual current projects. Rather than simply bringing back an archival model, the silhouette uses Air Max as a starting point for something more forward-facing, combining visible cushioning with Zellerfeld’s 3D-printing process and a shape that feels closer to product design than traditional sneaker construction.

Underfoot, the outsole keeps the updated printed geometry seen on the Air Max 1000.2, with traction zones built directly into the structure. It is still experimental, but each new colorway makes the model feel a little more like a real part of Nike’s future-facing lineup rather than a one-off concept.

A release date for the Nike Air Max 1000.2 “Black & Hyper Crimson” has not been confirmed yet, but pairs are expected to land via Nike and Zellerfeld channels soon.
