Nike Air Huarache “Run NYC” Restores the Sneaker’s Retro Tongue Tags

Throughout the Nike Air Huarach’es recent resurgence, Nike has done a great job in keeping the silhouette close to its original roots. Of course, there have been some extravagant options, but for the most part, the silhouette has enjoyed close-to-original tooling and colorways reminiscent of the early 90s era. This new Nike Air Huarache “Run NYC” colorway is exactly that, even going to the lengths of borrowing some of the original colorways used in 1991 — but also fitting the pair out with its OG Air Huarache tongue tags.

Honoring the silhouette’s running roots, the Swoosh has set out on a five-borough tour of New York City, with special graphic insoles and aglets celebrating a fictional running event of the early 90s. The exterior sees a light grey suede overlay with black neoprene tongues and a slew of accompanying colors like yellow toes, pink booties, orange liners, and teal rear caging. All of this is propped up on a staple white and black sole unit, with classic tags resting at the tongue.

Though a release date did not accompany the official image set below, you should expect to see pairs of this ladies-exclusive Nike Air Huarache “Run NYC” hit select retailers soon.
