With the Air Max 1 officially off ice, we’re beginning to see more and more makes of the origin trainer – though this one is a far cry from its original tooling. Here we do see some traditional textiles, with white mesh uppers, nubuck vamp overlays, leather Swooshes, and sweeping mudguards in suede, but tweaks like thick mesh tongues, satin quarter, and rear overlays, and speckled rubber outsoles add some modernization to the 1989 silhouette.
Palette-wise, the pair rakes together something fairly unique, with white, tan, charcoal, red, and baby blue all playing roles, but its the shiny silver of the satin that elevates the colorway. Completing the design you’ll find some unique branding hits at the tongue, and an interwoven, dual Nike-branded heel — finishes that were both seen on this experimental Air Force 1 a few months back.
Grab a detailed look at these here, and as they’re already available overseas, it’s likely we’ll be seeing a stateside Nike.com release soon.
