Nike Sportswear Reveals First Look at Air Max 1000 Multicolor Prototype
Nike Sportswear has revealed a first look at the upcoming Air Max 1000 Multicolor, introducing the brand’s first multicolor 3D-printed sneaker. The prototype was developed in partnership with Zellerfeld and captured at Nike’s PHK (Philip H. Knight) campus.
The Air Max 1000 Multicolor marks the debut of dual-color 3D printing in Nike footwear. Unlike traditional methods where color is applied through materials or overlays, this model features color printed directly into the structure of the shoe, allowing for integrated and zonal color control across the entire silhouette.
Powered by Zellerfeld’s multicolor 3D-printing technology, the Air Max 1000 Multicolor expands Nike’s exploration of printed footwear, offering increased design freedom and precision while maintaining a fully printed construction.
The Air Max 1000 originally debuted in 2024, with its first retail launch arriving in early 2025, followed by the Air Max 9500 in November 2025. The Multicolor iteration represents the next evolution of the platform.
The Nike Air Max 1000 Multicolor is expected to release later this year, with the technology set to appear in future 3D-printed Air Max models. Expect a release through zellerfeld.com.
