Nike Air Max 2090 Backs Up in Black
The Nike Air Max 90 burst on the scene some 30 years ago. It was so impressive that, three decades on, it’s still one of Nike’s best selling silhouettes. With such popularity, it would be a natural progression to commemorate the occasion with a modernized edition. The Beaverton team took a step back, looked into the future and imagined up what would have been if the shoe was birthed some 100 years later. Enter the Nike Air Max 2090.
Backing up Air Max Day’s OG White, Silver and Blue jawn is your everyman’s all-black makeup. Due to its mixed-up material make, it offers up varying black tones throughout the respective panels and materials. A closer look reveals translucent overlays, a classic black mesh upper beneath and a myriad of tonal accents. Grey is used sparingly, but to great effect, coming into play only on the profile Swoosh and lateral AIR branding. The monochrome sneaker is then capped off with vintage elements like the solid leather mudguards, an OG-inspired heel badge and a new Air casing cassette that’s inspired by Tinker’s original design.
Pairs of these Black and Grey beauties are available right now, right here on Nike.com for a cool $150. Go get ’em.
