This Trippy Nike Air Max 270 React Tacks on Translucent Uppers

Nike’s wavy new 90s-inspired Air Max 270 React has yet to release, but it’s already causing a stir amongst sneakerheads on social. Its on-trend 90s design is riding the wave of heavily-overlayed runners, but it does so without the chunk by using modernized materials on the upper, like the use of translucent on this new-to-surface ladies-exclusive.

Sitting above its two-piece React/Air Max 270 sole unit, this “Blue Lagoon” Air Max 270 React features translucent TPU underlays at the toe box and midfoot, which is then overlayed by flowing abstract panels in green and blue — shapes that are not too dissimilar from those spotted on Kanye’s OG Wave Runner. Vibrant Flash Crimson pops against the cool hues of the upper on the profile Swoosh, laces, and Air unit, while a teal-green suede overlay sits on the lacestays, a-la the React Element 55. Completing the design is ripstop tongues, complete with vivid green embroidered suede overlays, lavender liners and psychedelic 60s-inspired “Nike Air” insole detail.

Ladies can expect this trippy take on the Air Max 270 React to touch down at select Swoosh stockists and Nike.comon July 18th — just over two weeks after the 270 React makes its initial arrival to market — for $150 USD.
