Although it might not feel like it, we’re still pretty early on in the Air Max 720 journey; there’s still a lot of unchartered waters for the silhouette to experiment in. We’ve seen mesh uppers, gradients, paint splatters, and a mix of classic and all-new colorways, but this is the first time that Nike has added a print overlay to the upper — and they’ve done it to great effect.

Sporting a Regency Purple-to-Nightshade gradient upper, a subtle teal print overlay ads to the effect, by progressively shifting from larger sports and the base to smaller spots up top, in itself creating a new gradient-like effect. That overlay is paired with matching teal plastic overlays and outsoles, with low-sheen purple toe box Swoosh and tongue branding completing the design
