Odell Goes Laceless on the New Nike Air Max 720 OBJ Slip
Odell Beckham Jr had a season to forget on the field — but off it? It was his best yet. Football’s biggest sneakerhead broke the internet every Sunday with his player-exclusive warm-up cleats, his on-foots at pre-game arrivals, and his steady schedule of signature Nike sneakers. Now, as we head into 2020, his Nike Air Max 720 OBJ is getting upgraded, retooled to a laceless slip-on, complete with some heavy-duty hardware.
The new lockdown system features a solitary medial buckle threaded with thick nylon and is tightened by oversized plastic clips on the profile. But that’s not the only tweak to the silhouette, with new overlays across the vamp where the lacestays would typically site, along with a new fabrication on the upper in place of the previously-used mesh. The debut colorway is set to arrive in almost all-black, with subtle uses of light grey on the taping, dark blue on the outsoles, and vivid Shoebox Orange straps running down the tongue to hold the aforementioned buckle in place.
