Nike Air Max 90 Futura Joins Nike’s New “Needlework” Collection

This Spring, Nike is giving a handful of its ladies-exclusive designs an artsy overhaul as part of their impending “Needlework” collection, with the new-to-line Air Max 90 Futura next to join the series.

Focused on a minimal monochrome construct, the pair leans on uppers of bone mesh and tonal overlays of high-shag suede. Smooth leathers and fine plastics appear sporadically, with simple sole sails sitting underfoot. The pair’s championing features don’t lie within the textiles used nor their color selection, but with the special callouts to needlework and the broader craft catalog, with unique thread emblems at the heel and insoles, to special jewels tacked onto the rear. Swoosh overlays feature Victorian-era floral embossing. Thick woven laces and pack-specific insoles of tan-brown then complete the pair.
