Nike Drops More Joy With the Air Max 90 “Go The Extra Smile”

Back for its 30th birthday bash last year, the Nike Air Max 90 has backed it up with a hefty 2021 full of staple and statement releases. Now it’s found its way into Nike’s new retro-themed “Extra Smile” collection that remembers the throwback “Have a Nike Day” campaign from way back when.

Prepared in smooth yellow leather, the pair presents with a bevy of intriguing overlays, from tonal gold suedes of a fine shag to cracked leather Checks and buttery black leather mudguards. Blocking-wise, the pair is perfectly balanced, with more blacks arrive at the mesh tongues, rear brand panels, upper eyestays and liners countering the guards, and piercing white midsoles mirroring the Swooshes. Yellow and gum soles sit beneath and work into the midsole via the pair’s signature Air cassettes and interior supports. the pair is then finished by Swoosh smileys forward of the lateral ankle, and “Go The Extra Smile” branding on the laces and insoles.
