First Looks // Nike Air Max 90 “Kiss My Airs” (2023)

Before Nike officially included “Kiss My Airs” into their Air Max Day 2017 campaign, it had been a long-running pun/saying amongst sneakerheads throughout the world, hitting countless bootleg t-shirts, apparel, and even doormats. It was also refreshing to see Nike put a little bit more tongue-in-cheek into their marketing efforts, which have been fairly dry since the days of the OG Presto. Then, around two years ago, Nike introduced a three-pack of safari-print Air Maxes that celebrated the phrase, featuring a slew of favorite silhouettes. Now, two years on, the Swoosh will revive the theme with a brand new pack, with this Nike Air Max 90 “Kiss My Airs” joining a handful of other Air Max classics for release in early 2023.

It’s evident that each release honors a respective OG colorway; the Air Max 95 and the OG Neon, the Air Max 90 “Infrared”, the Air Max 97 and its legendary “Silver Bullet” color scheme — It also pays tribute to the brand’s first Air-riddled runner, the Tinker Hatfield-designed “Air Safari,” with the inclusion of the titular print on the mudguard overlays. The pair is then completed by pops of concord at the upper eyestays and branded panels, along with “Kiss My Airs” tags on the lateral ankle.
