Turning 30 is a big deal, believe me. This is why Nike has big plans for the Air Max 90 in 2020, from the return of the original cut, to OG colorways-a-plenty. So to get the party started, Nike is unloading a special-edition “30th Anniversary” Nike Air Max 90 NRG later this month.
Just as Jordan Brand did with their silhouettes for the brand’s 25th anniversary in 2010, the Air Max 90 arrives completely tonal. But while the Jumpman utilized white as their color of choice, the AM90 opts for all-over cream, ranging from pinkish hues on the mudguards and midsoles to almost-white on the suede. Soft, supple mesh arrives in a classic cream base, while rubbers, liners and outsoles all arrive in an off-white. Premium leather tongue tags sport debossed branding hits, heel Nike Air overlays arrive in solitary color, and insoles Nike Air motifs are almost invisible. Completing the design are special-edition dubraes; the left shoe reads 1990, and the right 2020. It also comes packaged with anatomical inserts and two sets of laces.
