Over the past few years, Nike has shown a penchant for tinkering with the Swoosh, from the Lightning Bolt “World Tour” pack to Travis Scott’s inverted Checks. Earlier this week, the motif received a glitchy overhaul on the Air Force 1, now it’s opting for something a little more reserved, with this greyscale Air Max 90 “Patent Swoosh” surfacing for the Spring season.
Revealed first here in kids sizing, the monotone makeup works mostly in grey, with ripstop uppers, nubuck overlays, and hardened guards, eyestays, and brand panels all peppered in varying shades. The pair is abruptly broken up by a bright white midsole, before returning to greys at the Air cassettes, Air supports, and outsoles. The titular Swoosh is the pair’s darkest instance, with jet black patent leather rounding out the design at the midfoot.
A release date for this playful new Nike Air Max 90 “Patent Swoosh” is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see pairs hit select stores and Nike.com in time for Summer.
