First Looks // Nike Air Max 90 SE “Scream Green”

Though it’s not embarking on any special campaign in 2022, it appears that the Air Max 90 will be celebrating something it holds close — the 35th anniversary of the Air Max linage. 1987’s Air Max 1 changed the game three-and-a-half decades ago and still carries on strong into the new millennium. From performance runner to streetwear staple, the Air Max 90 has followed its older sister’s lead, and now finds itself one of the most popular lifestyle offerings from the Swoosh. Now it’s appeared in denim duds, with this special-edition Nike Air Max 90 “Scream Green” surfacing in the popular twill finish.

Anchored atop a white mesh upper and tongue combo, the pair is subsequently flooded with indigo-dyed denim over the toe, midfoot, and heel overlay. It’s navy hue is countered by a solid black of the wavy-textured mudguard, before pops of “Scream Green” work into the Swoosh detailing, upper eyestays, and embroidery embellishments. There are several callouts to “32c Scream Green” and “XXXV” (35) — its significance unknown at this stage. The pair is then completed by a multi-faceted sole unit, inclusive of white midsoles, navy Air cassettes, and Scream Green Air supports.
