The Air Max 90 has been privy to some pretty clean colorways since its fully-fledged 30th anniversary run in 2020, with the trend continuing all the way through 2021 — and beyond! We say that because we’ve already uncovered a slew of new drops for the new year, including this new Air Max 90 “Tortoiseshell”.
As the title suggests, the pair tacks on the faux finish across its Swoosh and vamp overlays and does so in a traditional high-gloss finish. But despite the tortoiseshell stealing the show, there’s a slew of sundries that are worth noting. Firstly the uppers and tongues feature a plush new mesh weave — here in grey — while rich tan suede mudguards continue the earth hues set forth by the titular textures. the laces follow the tortoiseshell lead, too, by applying a brown and tan weave through a white base. There’s more to be found like earthy brown branding hits, orange insoles and Air supports, and grind rubber-flecked sole units completing the design.
A release date for this new Nike Air Max 90 “Tortoiseshell” is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see pairs hit select stores and Nike.com over the coming weeks.
