Available Now // Air Max 95 in Navy, White, and Gold
With the silhouette having just closed the door on its 25th anniversary year — a year that was heavily focused on the Air Max 90’s 30th birthday — it appears that the Nike Air Max 95 has only just begun to celebrate. The sneaker, which saw a very quiet first half of 2020, came home with a wet sail thanks to the reissue of the OG Neon. It looks to have carried that momentum into the early months of 2021, too, with a handful of regional Asian exclusives, some sustainable offerings, and now this very sporty Navy, White and Gold release.
Anchored mostly in navy and white — a typical palette of the mid-1990s — the pair quickly livens up thanks to a striking golden-yellow mid-line overlay. The contrast in both color and brightness of the surrounding grey and navy enables the sweeping synthetic to pop. But it’s not just tone and saturation that provides contrast, with materials shifting from mesh uppers and ripstop tongues to overlays of suede, the aforementioned synthetic, and finally to tumbled leather across the toe. Sole units arrive with a classic white and black finish and house a warm golden yellow support system, while staple 3M finishes hit the tongue and heel. Completing the design is an Air Max ST (92) inspired set of insoles, a set of white rope laces, and navy-outlined white Swoosh embroidery at the heel.
