Nike Air Max 96 II Shakes Things Up in “Malt”

After a long stint sitting in the archives, the Nike Air Max 96 II is enjoying it’s rebirth in 2021, with colorways new and old coming to the party. The next to appear continues a semi-winterized theme of reipstop and hardened textiles for improved wear on wet weather days. Joinign black and grey options, this Nike Air Max 96 II “Malt” adds a bit more warmth to the collection, pairing the titiualr hue with punchy Blue Slate and sultry Taupe Haze hues.

Like the pack’s previous pairs, this too is constructed with miserable weather in mind, thanks to its water-resistant ripstop upper — here in beige. The overlays opt for a nubuck finish in the titular hues, while the semi-hidden mudguard continues the pack’s use of a hardened textured finish. Several instances of 3M reflective detail arrive in light grey, whilst pops of blue appear at the Swooshe sand vamp overlays. Blacks are ushered in at the laces, Swoosh trim, and outsole, and the pair is completed by clean white midsoels and milky-cream Air supports.
