The Air Max 98 has seen quite the return to favor since its reissue early last year and has since established itself as a streetwear staple. It’s similarity to its predecessor has played a big part in its success, but so has it’s on-trend maximal design language, which lends itself to a wide array of color blocking options. The majority of the drops we’ve seen so far lean toward the maximal end of the spectrum, but this next-up “Metallic Silver” makeup takes the silhouette to the minimalistic.

Sporting a light grey ripstop upper, the pair arrives overlaid with shiny metallic silver overlays — the mid-layer appearing more metallic than the matt mudguard — and matching silver embroidery hits. White midsoles sandwich between the silver underfoot and in the Air unit, with the pair’s only deviation from the chrome palate arriving in Lilac on the medial lacestays, heel pulls, branding hits and insoles.
