This Air Max 98 Arrives with Heavy Ocean Inspiration
Oh, these nice-nice.
The Air Max 98 has seen quite the return to favor since its reissue early last year and has since established itself as a streetwear staple. It’s similarity to its predecessor has played a big part in its success, but so has it’s on-trend maximal design language, which lends itself to a wide array of color blocking options. The majority of the drops we’ve seen so far lean toward the maximal end of the spectrum, and while this next-up offering using as much of the blocking as it can, the use of subdued hues keep it feeling oh-so ultra-minimal.
Sporting a low-sheen silver nylon upper, the pair arrives overlays with textured crocodile leather in white and light ocean blues, with the main panel lined by a very soft mid-blue. Eyelets, heel pull, side Swooshes and outsole all arrive in the same shade of blue, while bright white returns on the liners, tongues, embroidered line detail and midsole. For an extra pop of color, pastel pink peers through the visible Air unit to complete the design.
A release date for this maximally-blocked, minimally-vibed Air Max 98 is yet to be announced, but with official images surfacing, you can expect a release to be right around the corner. Be sure to keep your eyes on our Nike Release Dates page for more updates as they come available.
