Nike's push of the Air Max Dn8 continues with a number of self-referential designs. Having just launched the futuristic sneaker in a 'Black/Volt' color scheme similar to the original Air Max 95 'Neon,' the Swoosh has reimagined the Dynamic Air offering in a style reminiscent of the Air Max Plus 'Voltage Purple' from 1998.
Inherently, the Air Max Dn franchise is linked to Sean McDowell's inaugural Tuned Air design by way of the updated visible Air cushioning and Dn badges that appear on the insole, spine, and outsole. The Dn8's latest color scheme, however, dispels any doubt of the connection, as its mix of 'Fierce Purple' and 'Total Orange' draw a cleat through-line to the inaugural Tns.
Palm tree-reminiscent overlays across the profiles set the stage for a subtle gradient pattern that turns the titular purple tone to pitch 'Black.' The bulk of the components across the upper keep things understated, as does the sole unit's foam build. Visible Dynamic Air units, however, introduce a drab shade of citrusy goodness, delivering yet another vibrant take on the fairly-novel silhouette.
