The Nike Air Penny 1 will continue its retro run into 2023, with reports of a new colorway inspired by Penny Hardaway’s middle school alma mater, as per Brendan Dunne of Complex.

Though first looks at the Nike Air Max Penny 1 “Lester Middle School” have not yet arrived, a sighted internal document shows that the pair will arrive on par with the OG Black/Royal release, with the school’s striking yellow in place of Orlando’s royal blue.

In addition to playing at Lester, Hardaway coached at Lester Middle School in the 2010s before moving on to Memphis. 

It has been confirmed that the release will not be an official collaboration with the institution.
