Although it fell well short in popularity compared to its predecessor, the Air Max Plus 2 is looking to finally gain some clout when it returns this year after being out of the spotlight for two decades. Riding the tail-end of the chunky trainer trend, the retro silhouette is poised for a return in 2021 through a bevy of new colorways both new and old — the next being this ladies-exclusive drop which has appeared today.
Perhaps initially ahead of its time, the design utiliser’s modern techniques to establish its unique lines and a superior build. The upper is comprised using a mesh that displays a soft color gradient from white to a darker green, this base plays host to the following overlays, dark green suede toe cap, light green to eggplant gradient wavey lines, and highly reflective 3M hits scattered throughout. At the bedrock of the pair sits a two-tone white and a shimmering eggplant midsole that also highlights fully translucent windows to expose the white TN cushioning tech below, offering the traction is the tri-colored black, green, and purple rubber outsole. Completing the intricate look is the subtle Swoosh and TN branding located on the tongue and heel.
