In celebration of the Air Max Plus' momentous 25th anniversary, albeit belated, Nike is diving deep into its archives to bring back a fan-favorite from 2019. This summer, the sneaker community is set for a treat as the "Black Gradient Red" Air Max Plus makes its return, offering both long-time fans and new enthusiasts a piece of Air Max history.

Initially released in 2019, this Air Max Plus variant broke the mold with its subdued yet striking gradient fade, moving from pitch black at the toe box to medium and then pale grey towards the heel. This more reserved approach to the silhouette's traditionally vibrant gradient designs offered a sophisticated aesthetic, a phrase not often associated with the silhouette. Complementing this tonal transition, the sneaker's black plastic overlays add a compelling contrast, encapsulating the dynamic design language defining the Air Max Plus series.

University Red accents punctuate the Swoosh branding, lacing system, and tongue, injecting a vibrant burst of color that demands attention. This fiery detailing echoes in the midsole and outsole, where red and black combine to continue the theme. A hallmark of the Plus series, the classic yellow TN badge on the heel, reminds of the sneaker's heritage and enduring appeal.

Stay tuned for the official release on Nike.com and select retailers this summer.
