Sean McDowell's Nike Air Max Plus continues to expand its roster of styles as it inches closer to its 30th anniversary.
While still years away, the milestone celebration will surely bring unprecedented attention to the Tuned Air pioneer from mid-2027 to early 2029. Before then, the street legend has amassed a sizable catalog of finishes, with many naturally option for bright color schemes and eyebrow-raising gradients and patterns.
For its latest ensemble, McDowell's Air Max proposal takes on a "Dark Obsidian/White/Black/Blue Chill" color scheme. Branding elements, visible Air units, and whale tail-shaped shanks underfoot indulge in a light shade of blue, leaving the remainder of the sneaker to mostly enjoy darker tones. What stands out on the pair, however, is the warped grid-like print that covers the entirety of the upper's textile base. When coupled with the Tuned Air unit graphic on the insole, it seems the pattern nods to the design process, which often includes the use of cutting mats.
Enjoy official photos of the Air Max Plus ahead. Pairs should hit Nike.com by the holiday season for $190.
