A Sunset Gradients Lands on the Nike Air Max Plus Drift

The Nike Air Max Plus Drift might've not caught on like the Swoosh expected, but the silhouette continues to surface in refreshing new styles.

Rooted in Sean McDowell's Tuned Air design from 1998, the model presents the revolutionary Nike Air technology in a bold new package. Tooling underfoot doesn't deciate much from the debut Air Max Plus, with visible Air bubbles and whale tail-shaped mid-foot shanks reprising their roles. The upper, however, breathes new life into the palm tree-inspired waves that appear along the profiles.

Most of the latest from Nike Sportswear indulges in an understated 'Dark Smoke Grey/Black' color scheme, but textile bases visible in-between the TPU curves across the upper introduce 'Laser Orange,' purple, and pink flair presented in an eye-catching gradient. Together, each hue animates the modern silhouette with an aesthetic that harkens back to McDowell's blueprint.
