Sean McDowell’s Air Max Plus is enjoying a quiet 25th anniversary season, with the silhouette not exerting anything too out of the ordinary compared to your typical run-of-the-mill releases. Of course, next year, we’ll see a retro of the OG “Hyper Blue,” but for 2023, things remain relatively tame —a word not often used when describing the model. Its next is — in the scheme of the Air Max Plus — just that, tame, as it harkens back to colorways of the early 2000s in a disjointed mix of white, grey, berry, navy, and yellow.
While it sounds awful on paper, the color mix compliments the silhouette well, with its white-to-berry gradient mesh upper encased in a set of silver vein overlays and mid-grey mudguards. Navy and yellow work in unison along the midfoot mini Swoosh, eyestays, and tongue tips, with midfoot shanks and Air, supports also buying into the hues. A simple white midsole and black rubber outsole round out the design.
An official release date for this new Air Max Plus is unknown, but you should expect it to sneak into select retailers and Nike.com in the coming months. When they hit shelves, we’ll be sure to keep you posted here on our official Twitter account, but until then, enjoy an official look at the pair below.
