Purple Piping Elevates Nike Air Max Plus “Iron Grey/Wild Grape”

Never short of reinvention, Sean McDowell’s iconic Nike Air Max Plus is back with a fresh new twist — and this time it’s not leaning on the model’s signature bold gradients to make an impact. The latest “Iron Grey/Wild Grape” colorway introduces a new detail in the form of a piped mudguard and heel clip, giving the silhouette a sharper, more defined edge.

The upper keeps things stealthy with a tonal iron grey mesh base, matched with glossy black TPU overlays that maintain the shoe’s flowing, wave-like structure. A thin line of Wild Grape piping runs along the mudguard and heel counter, adding a subtle yet striking pop of color. The same rich purple tone lands on the Swooshes, tongue badge, and shank plate, tying the accents together without overpowering the design.

Underfoot, the Tuned Air midsole is finished in deep grey, paired with visible Air units in the heel and forefoot for the model’s trademark comfort and support. The outsole adds small hits of yellow on the tread, nodding to the classic Tn Air branding on the heel badge.

It’s a refined take on the Air Max Plus formula — proof that the silhouette’s appeal doesn’t always need loud colors to stand out.
