Nike Just Dropped a Deadpool-Reminiscent Air Max Plus in "True Red/Black"

Nike Sportswear continues to reimagine the Air Max Plus in a healthy mix of widely-available general styles and special-edition, seasonal takes. The sneaker's most-recent makeover features a "True Red/Black" color scheme that evokes images of Marvel's Deadpool character.

Although the newly-surfaced Air Max isn't tied to the fictional figure portrayed by Ryan Reynolds on the silver screen, its red-black gradient would match well with any Deadpool Halloween costume.

"True Red" animates the bulk of the upper's mesh base, although smokey contrast appears from forefoot to heel. Curved TPU overlays across the upper also don a pitch-dark tone that further drives the "Merc with a Mouth" connection; most of the sole unit does the same, creating a predominantly two-tone Air Max Plus that's sure to get year-round wear from those who add the pair to their footwear rotations.

The "True Red/Black" Air Max Plus is now available on Nike.com, Foot Locker, and Champs for $190.
