Sean McDowell's Nike Air Max Plus was developed as a Foot Locker-exclusive running shoe in the late 1990s. Throughout the years, the silhouette has become a lifestyle staple across Australia, England, and other parts of the globe.
Milestone anniversary celebrations of the last 10 years have seen the sneaker become widely-available beyond Foot Locker (which was recently acquired by DICK'S Sporting Goods for billions of dollars), helping the design join more sneaker rotations. Although the Air Max Plus never truly took off as a performance-runner, it introduced Tuned Air technology to the market, offering another cushioning experience built on Nike Air.
Ahead of summer, McDowell's creation has emerged in a number of makeovers nodding to its pioneering Air Max-variant. A newly-surfaced "Wolf Grey/Anthracite/Black/Racer Blue" option features large Tuned Air text across its profiles. Traditional Tn badges throughout the upper and sole unit reprise their roles, while a speed-toggle lacing system brings non-standard functionality to the predominantly-two-tone shoe.
Enjoy official photos of the latest Tuned Air-branded sneaker ahead. Pairs should quietly launch via Nike.com by the time autumn gets going.
