Nike Air Max Scorpion “Triple Black” Drops December 8

With Nike’s Air Max linage failing to find traction in the past few years, a lot is riding on the success of their new Air Max Scorpion. With the VaporMax series dwindling, Nike has literally doubled down on their newest silhouette, hoping to inject as much hype into the model as they’ve done Air in their oversized sole units. As is the case with a lot of their most audacious designs, the Swoosh will start of with some fairly tame colorways to test the market, and there’s nothing more basic than classic “Triple Black”.

Featuring a design similar to that of the VaporMax Plus and VaporMax Flyknit models, with uppers informed by the latter, and quite an obvious nod to the former through the pair’s bulbous bare-Air sole unit underfoot. A Nike document that previews the Scorpion doesn’t go too deep into the shoe’s design background, but does position it as part of a new phase for Air Max shoes, describing it as using enhanced Air that offers “tomorrow’s comfort today.”

A release for the Nike Air Max Scorpion “Triple Black” is currently scheduled to arrive in mid-September 2022, though specifics on this colorway are currently unknown.
