The Nike Air Vortex has been a Swoosh staple since 1985 – primarily prolific in running culture, but has since taken on a lifestyle role as running tech has advanced into the future. The popularity of the retro-inspired design has seen the Vortex pop up sporadically over the years in seasonal colorways. And here it is again, oddly arriving in Fall-friendly hues for its Springtime release.
The tan forefoot, eyestays, heel, and lining play off the trainer’s white midsole and laces, and classic gum outsole perfectly, delivering a classic base for the sneaker. Character comes from its color: a golden yellow nylon underlays and dark brown leathers stay period-specific in both material and hue, giving the sneaker a distinct throwback vibe.
