Nike's Astrograbber Makes a Statement in "Gym Red" Velvet
The old school Nike Astrograbber might not have taken off quite like the brand would've wanted, but it's become a go-to option for those looking for a sleek, vintage aesthetic without breaking the bank. Past launches of the silhouette have indulges in a healthy mix of muted and animated color schemes, but an all-new "Gym Red" pair introduces a velvet makeover yet to be seen on the turf-ready design.
Not traditionally associated with performance footwear, soft velvet material covers the entirety of the sneaker's upper, donning a ruby color throughout. Shimmering silver stars and other icons are decoratively presented across the upper, added another special touch to the style. A small rose lands on the top-of-the-tongue, potentially speaking to the "Gym Red" makeover's inspiration. The upper's presentation is recreated on the shoe box, offering one of the Swoosh's more elevated packaging styles to date.
Underfoot, an all-"Black" look covers the sole unit, allowing the top-half to steal the spotlight.
Enjoy official photos of the latest Astrograbber ahead. No word on firm Nike.com launch details have surfaced as of this writing, but that's expected to change as the top of 2026 inches closer.
